what is kava?

Kava is the root of the pepper tree (piper methysticum) and has been used extensively throughout the pacific for hundreds of years.
Kava is non-alcoholic and anyone who has visited Fiji will tell you, kava is a must to try. 

Kava has been known to significantly reduce stress and anxiety with an amazing properties that help you sleep better.
​The effects of kava are mild, and range from a light sedative effect to a mild euphoric sensation depending on how much you drink. 

How to mix kava

If you're mixing it for yourself then your best bet is to use a blender or shaker bottle.
  • Add 1 heaped tablespoon to 500ml water and shake or blend for 2 mins. 
  • Pour mixture into kava pros kava strainer bag, squeeze out remaining liquid into a cup, and its ready to drink. 

If you're drinking with friends then you will need to do this a little differently:
  1. Add 3-4 tablespoons directly to the Kava Pros strainer bag.
  2. Grab a basin with about 2.5lt water and soak bag with contents. 
  3. Knead the bag and its contents ​for 3-5mins making sure the contents do not spill out the top. 
  4. Squeeze out the remaining water from the bag and discard contents.
  5. The darker the liquid the stronger the drink.
